Essner as its Executive Chairman. Mr. Essner was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Wyeth, acquired by Pfizer in 2009. In his 32 years in the pharmaceutical industry Mr. Essner has held numerous high–level leadership roles that included Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association (PhRMA). He is Chairman of the not–for–profit Children's Health Fund, and a Trustee of Mote Marine Laboratory, as well as Executive–in–Residence and Adjunct Professor at Columbia Business School, where he teaches courses in Healthcare Management.
Mr. Essner is also an Operating Executive for The Carlyle Group, and a member of the Board of Directors for Amicus Therapeutics and has just completed a 16–year term on the Board of Directors for MassMutual.
